G37 political support group has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
The group made the statement in a response to a call by the national vice chairman of the party ( North-East), Mallam Salihu Lukman and some civil society organizations on the National Chairman to resign from office to pave the way for the emergence of Senate President from the North Central.
National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Evans City said such moves by Mallam Lukman is born out of selfishness and will not speak well of the on going call for government of national unity as has been proposed by the APC think-thank.
The group said they were not surprised by the statement credited to Lukman because he was known with many controversies right from his days in the Progressive governors forum, where he almost ran the party into crisis following his persistence criticism against the then caretaker chairman, governor Mala Buni.
“We wondered what could be the contribution of Lukman to the development of All Progressives Congress, APC in the country that always propelled him to aim high and shoot at any slighted chances.” He queried.
Comr. City said Senator Adamu ought to have been commended for leading the party into victory in a hotly contested elections instead of demanding for his head.
The Political activist who is from Niger Delta region said his group is in support of the agitation for the senate presidency to the South-South or South-East in order to promote power equilibrium.
