Salem wisdom school, Lokoja, a faith based citadel of learning, held their year 2021 Graduation ceremony in the school auditorium, where different cadre within the school system graduated to Higher classes while some graduated from the school to Higher institution.
At the occasion, Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA who was the Chairman of the event congratulated the Management of the citadel of learning for providing quality, qualitative and excellent educational services that has stood a test of time. I can say emphatically, using my children as an example, Salem is a great school that moulds both learning capacity and character of their students. They have produced stars and future leaders that will engender transformative change toward Nation Building.
In his speech, the commissioner emphasised that Education is an important tool that can effect positive change in any society, saying it’s the reason why the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration made Educational development a cardinal policy thrust and one of the pillars of the New Direction blueprint. He’s a lover of Education and he has gone beyond rhetorics to contribute immensely to the educational infrastructure and system of the state, Asiwaju stated.
In his words, ” Governor Yahaya Bello has further reinforced the priority he places on improving the Educational system in the state by strategically providing a value chain that would build human capacity in the areas of science and technology, as a way of leveraging on the abundance of resources in the state vis-a-vis it exploration and the capacity needed in our industries in the state.
He said about four(4) GYB science Model Secondary schools are concurrently ongoing in different local Governments in the state, which he said are deliberately designed to meet the mordern Educational requirements in terms of physical structure, curriculum standard and quality teaching personnel’s. This is an effort to feed the Newly built and already operating Confluence University of Science and technology(CUSTECH) in Osara with minds that are already moulded and instilled with deep knowledge of science and technology from secondary school. With that, Ajaokuta Steel Company, Itapke iron ore and even private firms in the state like Dangote Cement Company will have enough qualified products to feed their system for optimal productivity.
Although, there were fears and concerns raised by some public spirited people about the states financial capacity to finish the massive ongoing projects in the state that span areas of infrastructure, Health, Education and human capacity development, he stated clearly that all ongoing project across all sectors mentioned have 100% cash backing for implementation, hence, there is no fear of abandonement at all.
He however, advised the school management to work assiduously to develop capacity of her students in the areas of ICT, Artificial intelligence and technology, saying these are the NEW OIL that drives the frontier of mordern day activities and global economy. Like wise he admonished, that the values, operating ethics and professionalism that stands our Salem wisdom school must not be jeopardised, rather we must come here next year to commend your progressive strides as a school, the commissioner stated.
To support the upgrade of their science laboratory to meet changing realities and demands of the ever evolving science world, Governor Yahaya Bello donated a sum of N1, 000, 000 to the school management.
Asiwaju wished all graduands a worthy journey of impact and excellence, especially those moving to Higher institutions, reminding them never to be a conformist to the world, rather they should stand out to showcase their talent, capacity and most importantly, character to the world as instilled in them here in Salem wisdom school. You must be a Good Ambassador of this great citadel of learning anywhere you find yourselves, while he advised other category of graduands to make hardwork, discipline and prayers their hallmark, saying they will definitely come out in flying colours.
