The Special Adviser on Emergency to Kogi State Government, Hon. Mohammed Shuaibu has restated Government’s commitment to mitigating and managing disaster occurrences in the State.
Hon. Mohammed made the disclosure while addressing some persons whose houses and properties were destroyed by the recent gas explosion at Jamata, assured that the present administration will be proactive in ensuring that disasters are reduced to the bearest minimum.
The Special Adviser assured of a well coordinated State emergency and management response by Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo that will protect lives, properties and communities.
The Special Adviser said the Government coordinated and integrated activities has become necessary towards building, sustaining, and improving the capability to mitigate against emergencies.
He assured that with the State Emergency Management Agency as presently constituted by the State Government, the appointments of persons by Gov Ododo on Emergency Management, he said the administration is prepared to respond and to recover from threatened or actual natural and other man made disasters.
Hon. Mohammed described Gov Ododo’s administration as one that is people’s oriented, said his commitment to the well-being of the citizens remains unequalled and unrivaled.
