Ankpa (Kogi) The Onu of Ankpa and Chairman Ankpa Local Government Traditional Council in Kogi State, HRH, Alh. Abdulmalik Umar, has commended Gov. Yahaya Bello (GYB), for his unprecedented achievements in infrastructural development in the Eastern senatorial district of the state.

Umar made the commendation on Thursday when the Forum of Special Advisers to GYB, paid a courtesy visit to the paramount ruler in Ankpa, in continuation of the ”GYB Legacy Projects’ Tour” to the Eastern senatorial district of the state.

The forum had recently embarked on inspection tour to some executed and ongoing projects across the three senatorial districts of the state, aimed at projecting GYB’s unprecedented achievements in all sectors especially infrastructural development to the world.

According to Umar, Yahaya Bello, an Ebira man has made Ankpa better than it was because of the construction and completion of the Ankpa township roads, Ankpa-Abejukolo road and several other laudable achievements the Governor has recorded in the last six years in Igalaland.

The paramount ruler described GYB as a detribalised leader who posses all the qualities to lead Nigeria and whose leadership would promote development of Kogi state if elected as President of Nigeria.

”If I don’t praise Governor Yahaya Bello then I’m an ingrate and it shall be from GYB to PYB”, the traditional ruler said.

The royal father further commended the Governor for being fair, selfless and uniting the people of the state.

”Yahaya Bello is a divine child on a divine mission; the way with which God brought him as Governor is enough indication for people to know that the hand of God is with the young man”, Umar said.

Earlier, the Forum’s Chairman and Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Hon. Ochidi Usman, said it was imperative to affirm that GYB had done for Igala people what Igala Governors couldn’t do for years.

Ochidi emphasised that it was important to make the statement in view of sentimental narrative being peddled in some quarters to play down the outstanding achievements of the governor.

He, therefore appealed to the people to be fair and objective in their comments, rather than promoting ethnic sentiment and divisive tendencies.

He added: ”I monitored the progress of the construction of the roads personally because of my love for Ankpa, a community I lived for almost a decade”.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters and son of the soil, Pharm. Clement Hamidu, said the administration of GYB had restored peace and security to Ankpa communities.

According to Hamidu, Ankpa used to be unsafe and hotbed of criminal elements, but the situation is different today and the people are happy for it. (NAN)
