The House of Representatives, in line with it’s Legislative Agenda, strong desire for the development of agricultural education and firm commitment to the formal approval and take off of the Federal University of Agriculture, Kabba, has constituted a six-man harmonisation committee to liaise with the Senate for final legislative input.
The harmonisation committee will thereafter submit it’s report to the two chambers of the National Assembly for the Third Reading; final stage. After which it will be transmitted to the Executive for the assent of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
It should be noted that given the strategic importance of the institution to the deepening of agriculture and agricultural education in Nigeria, it was agreed that the respective Bills passed by the 8th and 9th Senate be harmonised.
While I use this medium to congratulate us ALL; constituents, leaders, men, women, youths, legislators and numerous others, for the steady progress and success achieved thus far on the Federal University of Agriculture Kabba Establishment Bill, I wish to state unequivocally that it is victory for EVERYONE. It is not for any person or individual. Rather, it is for the entire progressive minded and good people of not only Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu Federal Constituency, but also Okun Nation and Kogi West Senatorial District. For this, we give glory, honour and adoration to Almighty God.
Finally, as the House of Representatives, through it’s six-man conference committee, eagerly waits for the commencement and prompt unification of the Report, it is expected that the Senate will expedite actions in constituting its own conference committee to liaise and work expeditiously; with it’s counterpart from the House of Representatives, for the final harmonisation of the Federal University of Agriculture Kabba Establishment Bill.
God bless us all, Amen.
