Eid-ul-Mawlid: Governor Otu greets Muslim faithful

 

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim brethren residing in the state and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-ul-Mawlid, a feast celebrated to mark the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a goodwill message posted on his facebook page, Governor Otu said: “As we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all Muslims in Cross River State and across Nigeria.

“The life of the Holy Prophet imparts the principles of harmony, modesty, kindness, and dedication to humanity.

“Let us take this moment to contemplate these enduring teachings, promoting solidarity, affection, and mutual respect among everyone, regardless of belief or background.

“May this celebration inspire us to work together for the progress of our state and nation, ensuring that peace and harmony prevail.

“I urge everyone to extend a hand of kindness to those in need, as this is the true spirit of the Prophet’s teachings.

“As we rejoice in the blessings of this day, may Allah (SWT) guide and protect us all.”

Also, the Chief of Staff to Governor Otu, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, felicitated the Muslim brothers and sisters, in a press release by Patrick Asuquo, Special Assistant Media in the Office of the Chief of Staff.

According to the press release posted on Asuquo’s Facebook page, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, extends his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Cross River State and beyond on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid.

Hon. Ironbar said: “On this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, I extend my warmest wishes to the Muslim community in our state and across the nation. As we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), let us reflect on and embrace his teachings of peace, compassion, unity, and understanding.”

He further called on all citizens, irrespective of religious affiliation, to use this special occasion to promote harmony and foster an environment of tolerance and respect for one another.

“May this day inspire us to live in peace, uphold the values of love, and support one another in building a more inclusive and prosperous society,” he added.

The Chief of Staff wishes all Muslims a joyous and spiritually fulfilling Eid-ul-Mawlid.
