Ebonyi: Amachi Community Enthrones New Traditional Ruler

The people of Amachi Community in Abakaliki Local Government Area, Ebonyi State has enthroned new traditional ruler HRH Eze Boniface Alo Nkashi Nwokeocha, nine years after the demise of their former traditional ruler HRH Eze Peter Nkashi Nwokeocha.

The new traditional ruler is the first son of the late Eze Nkashi Nwokocha who died in 2015.

The coronation of the traditional Ruler was spare headed by Ishiuke of Amachi Community which made up of Igbojima and Unwuerua along side Eze Fidelis Nwonumara among other traditional rulers of Izzi extraction held at Edukfu Obo in Uburu Amachi in the presence of the Commissioner for Internal Security Ebonyi State Hon. Eta Uka Ude and the representatives from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftiancy Matters, Border Peace and Conflict resolution.

Addressing the people of Amachi Community shortly after the coronation, the commissioner for Internal Security, Mr. Eta Uka Ude who spoke on behalf of the representatives of Commissioners for Local Government and Chieftiancy Matters, Prince Benjamin Igboke and his counterpart of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Mr. Chukwuma Ogidi appreciated the people for the unity and peace displayed, saying their character is inter dem with the peace gospel of the state Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru and promised to give the community all the needed support.

The Chairman of the occasion and SSA to the Governor on Secondary Education, Mr. Peter Nwogbaga, the Coordinator of Amachi Development Centre, Hon. Mrs Ifeoma Victoria Mbam and the Chairman Amachi Development Union, Mr. Fidelis Okata-Mbam, expressed happiness over the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the coronation, saying it took the community too long to coronated a traditional ruler because it was difficult for them to find replacement who would lead them well like the late Eze Nkashi Nwokocha and expressed optimism that his son, Eze Boniface would toe the Leadership pattern of their late Eze, promising their prayers and overwhelming support at all times.

The former Chairman revenue mobilization, allocation and fiscal commission (RMAFC) Chief Elias Mbam, the chairman of Local Government service Commission Chief Romanus Nwasum, the second vice Chairman Oha Izhi Nnodo Dr. Jacob Nwankwo, the traditional ruler of Amegu Autonomous Community Eze Fidelis Nwonumara commended the people of Amachi Community for coronating Eze Boniface Nwokeocha as their traditional ruler and urged them to give him all the necessary supports and solidarity so as to succeed, describing him as a man of impeccable character and expressed hope that he would lead the Community to the grater height.


Others who spoke at the event including Dr. Christain Ezeora Achi, a business mogul, Chief Sunday Nwambam, the former Coordinator of Amachi Development Center Hon. Obinna Nwiboko, the Village Head of Ochiobu Okum, Mr. Sunday Nweke, and the Chairman Ezeogo Coronation Committee, Mr. Julius Ibere said their joy knew no bounds as Amachi gave the right person the throne, stating that the new traditional ruler would enjoy their support.

The new Traditional Ruler, Eze Boniface Aloh Nkashi Nwokocha appreciated the people for the honour done him and assured that he would replicate the good leadership style of his late father in serving Amachi people and solicited for their total support towards the peace, unity and Development of the Community.

The event featured cultural display from different groups.
