The Managing Director/CEO Kogi Enterprise Development Agency, KEDA, Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo has charged students all over the world to inculcate the habit of entrepreneurship.
Onaivo gave the charge at the Ebira Cultural Day Celebration/Launching of Ebira People Mobile Application held at the Federal University Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.
The event which was organised by the National Association of Ebira Student (NAES),was targeted at fostering unity and promoting socio-cultural relations among the entire university community irrespective of cultural differences.
The enterpreneur- friendly boss in her message to students on the benefits of being a business owner says, KEDA as an agency is always open and ready to work and collaborate with emerging and existing entrepreneurs on ideas, innovations as well as business plans that could create wealth and contribute to the economic growth of the State.
Onaivo who cheered the audience by dancing with the Ebira cultural troop lauded the student for their co-operation on the development and launching of Ebira App on amazon which is aimed at promoting the Ebira cultural heritage across board.
Speaking on the upcoming Covid-19 Action, Recovery and Economic Stimulus, NG-CARES program, she says the agency through the state government has made provision of 10 percent for the youths, 10 percent for persons with disabilities while , 40 percent goes to the women and 40 percent for the men respectively.
She however urged the youths to take advantage of the program and make optimal utilization of the funds that would be allocated to raise their lively hoods and expand their capacities.
She thanked His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the establishment of KEDA and deeming it fit to have a Woman as the pioneer MD/CEO. She however vowed that, KEDA which was established by the State Assembly Law to support, stimulate and control Entrepreneur activities across the State will work tirelessly to achieve it’s set objectives.
High point of the event was the Award of Honour to KEDA boss in appreciation of her hard work and dedication particularly, for being a great inspiration to upcoming and existing entrepreneurs.
