The Kogi State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party says it has declared a month of mourning as a mark of rejecting the outcome of the just concluded local government Election held in the State.
The State Chairman of the SDP, Alhaji Mouktah Atimah, while Speaking with Thenigerianpost said it is mourning the outcome of the election, says it is a setback for democracy.
The SDP Chairman pointed out that having received assurances from the SIEC Chairman of conducting a credible polls, lamented that the council election lacked the minimum standard, was an abberetion to known democracy.
The SDP called on the President to ensure that a wholistic reforms on the conduct of election is carried out before he lives Office, else it would be safe to say democracy in the country has been murdered.
The State SDP Chairman called on the members of the party to observe a month of mourning as a way of registering there displesure to the conduct of the concluded Kogi State Council election.
