Chairman, FGN SPW, Kogi State Gives Further Update On Payment of Stipends to Participants in Kogi State

Dear Distinguished Leaders, Comrades and FGN SPW Participants,

FURTHER UPDATE ON PAYMENT OF STIPENDS TO ON-BOARDED FGN SPW PARTICIPANTS IN KOGI STATE

Kindly note that the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced payments of N20,000 monthly stipends to successfully onboarded FGN SPW Participants under ACCESS BANK, FIDELITY BANK  and UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA in the following 12 LGAs in Kogi State:

ACCESS  BANK:
1. AJAOKUTA
2. BASSA
3. IJUMU
4. KOGI (KKF)

FIDELITY BANK:
1. IBAJI
2. IGALAMELA-ODOLU
3. MOPAMURO
4. YAGBA EAST

UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA
1. ADAVI
2. DEKINA
3. OKEHI
4. OLAMABORO

Following the commencement of the payment of Participants, we have been inundated with complaints about non receipt of payment by several beneficiaries whose names had earlier appeared on the list of successfully onboarded Participants released by the NDE.

The above development prompted us to request for the list of Participants paid so far in each LGA in the State for clarity sake from the NDE/National Coordinator of the SPW Program during a meeting held with them and Commercial Banks in Abuja on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 to address issues of concern with the slow onboarding process of Participants by the Commercial Banks.

However, our request for the list of Participants paid so far in each LGA was declined on the basis that payment of Participants is still ongoing.

We therefore urge successfully onboarded Participants in Kogi State to exercise patience to allow the NDE conclude payment of all onboarded Participants.

Furthermore, kindly note that the National Coordinating Office of the FGN SPW Program  has concluded arrangements with the 6 selected Commercial Banks to quickly conclude account opening and BVN validation of all selected Participants to facilitate their payments.

Finally, payment of stipends to onboarded SPW Participants in the remaining 9 LGAs in the State which were assigned to FCMB, HERITAGE BANK and ZENITH BANK is still being processed as the Banks are working to resolve account opening and BVN validation issues.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding on this program.

Best regards,
Afolabi Joseph-Raji
Chairman, FGN SPW, Kogi State.
