A Socio Cultural Group, the Benin Solidarity Movement , ( BSM), has called on the Inspetor General Of Police to urgently prosecute the Professor Activist , Prof. Zainab Abiola, who brutalized a Police Orderly attached to her in Abuja.
The group in a press release signed by the President general , Ambassador Curtis Eghosa Ugbo and Secretary , Esohe Adun condemned the attack on the innocent Police woman who was carrying out her officer duty peacefully by helping to protect the offenders without provocation.
Ugbo wondered why Police men and women should be deployed to highly influential people and thereby leaving the poor trodding Nigerians at their own mercy.
He said, “Her principal, Prof. Zainab Abiola and her domestic staff, comprising the housemaid, Rebecca Enechido, and a male suspect at large, who were said to have brutalised the orderly be made to face the wrought of the law .
“ The female officer, Inspector Teju Moses on Tuesday in Garki, Abuja was assaulted by her principal and her domestic staff.”
It was said that Abiola, a legal practitioner and human rights activist had attacked the female officer following her refusal to breach professional ethics by carrying out menial and domestic chores at her house.
Her principal, Prof. Zainab Abiola and her domestic staff, comprising the housemaid, Rebecca Enechido, and a male suspect at large, were said to have brutalised the orderly.
A trending video on social media showed the Inspector in pain, with a bloody face.
BSM advised the Inspector General Of Police To urgently withdraw Police orderliness from these people and deploy them to their normal duties.
He commend the Inspector General Of Police for directing the immediate prosecution of the suspects in custody as the preliminary investigation shows overwhelming evidence of culpability on the part of the Professor and her domestic staff.”
Ugbo further tasked the investigative team to ensure that the fleeing suspect was arrested and made to face the law.
