The Director General of Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Barrister Babatunde Irukera has described the death of the General Officer Commanding, GOC 6 Division Port Harcourt, Major General Olu Irefin as shocking and unfortunate.
Barrister Irukera while reacting to the death of the General in a statement said “It is with great and stunning shock that I learned of the unbelievably tragic passing of Major General John Olu Irefin.”
According to him, Late General Irefin was “a very senior and professional military officer, serving the nation in a vital role, and having so much more to offer has gone home.”
He also described the Late General as a “Proud son of Kogi and Okun land who we all take pride in has got his wings and departed so suddenly in painful circumstances.
The FCCPC Chief Executive Officer recalled that barely two weeks ago, sympathizers from all walks of life commiserated with General Irefin over the loss of his mother, but shared in the joy and celebration of him surviving her, and granting her a worthy home going which is the dream of every parent.
“As such to be confronted with his own demise so shortly after, and so untimely is painful and grievous. Our nation, the military, our state, our clan has lost a gem. I condole with his family and the rest of us, and pray for fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.” He added
He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
