Another FUL Lecture Caught in the Act of Sexual Harassment.
The Federal University Lokoja is again in the news for the wrong reason as a Professor, has been caught in the act of sexual harassment.
The Professor who lectures in the Department of Geology, is said to have in time past failed a student, making her not to graduate with her mate, insisting on having a carnal knowledge of her.
Not knowing what to do, the female student with the spill over had no choice but to play along with the Professor, got him recorded on phone demanding for sex and wanting to extort money from her.
After much pressure and having had a hold of the evidences from their several conversations, she played along until the Professor was caught pants down in a hotel room.
For now tongues are wagging amongst the University community as there seems to be effort to bury the matter by the school authorities and several influencial persons, begging on his behalf.
A student leader who is in the know but would not want his name mentioned has however threatened to spill the beans if in the next 48 hours the Professor, who hails from the Eastern part of the State is not unveiled to the public for disciplinary action by the management of the University.
All effort to reach the school security personnel who are in the know to State the next line of action to be taken has proven abortive as they claim to be handling the matter in line with the school internal mechanism.
The parents of the students who equally confirmed the matter to Newsmen however say they may be forced to go through legal means after reporting the matter to security agencies, demanding damages, pointing out that the Professor has intentionally failed their daughter, leading to her having a spill over and for sexual harassment and extortion.
Meanwhile, a coalition of civil society organizations in the State said they will carry out a mass protest in the coming week to demand for justice for the harassed student. According to the spokesperson of the coalition, the matter has been reported to them, described this recent harassment as one too many for innocent students of the Federal University Lokoja.
