The new Atta-Igala, His Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa has been urged to accord utmost priority to the unity and togetherness of his subjects for his domain to witness accelerated development and growth.
A former Minister of State Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni gave the advice when he paid traditional homage on the Igala Monarch in his Palace in Idah.
Professor Stephen Ocheni who felicitated with His Majesty, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa for ascending the throne of his forefathers, enjoined him to lay solid foundation that will promote greater unity and brotherhood in his Kingdom.
The former Minister who holds the title of Omachi Atta-Igala, noted that the people are honoured to have His Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa served in the highly exalted and cherished position that remained the pride of the Igala people.
“We are optimistic that your reign will usher in greater accomplishments and prosperity that has never been witness in the years past in the Kingdom”.
” As one of your illustrious subjects, I have implicit confidence and believe in your capacity and rich experience to provide the expected leadership that gives hope to all that better days are here with us”.
Professor Ocheni while wishing the Atta-Igala successful reign, robust health and wisdom, called on Igala sons and daughters to give their unflinching support and cooperation to the new Atta-Igala.
The Atta-Igala while welcoming the former Minister, commended Professor Ocheni for influencing some land mark projects to Igalaland while in Office, including the recent Idah- Nsukka road .
The Atta-Igala warned his subjects to desist from all forms of negative acts,especially the pull- him down practice, stating that those involved
in the act would face the wrath of the ancestors of the land.
“Is sad and despicable seeing sons and daughters of the land at each other throats because of one interest or the order, it doesn’t speak well of us,it’s counterpart productive. Those of you engaging in this unwholesome act be ready to face the wrath of our ancestors”.
His Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa called on his privileged subjects to provide job opportunities for the youth to curb insecurity and youth restiveness.
The Atta-Igala commended Professor Stephen Ocheni for the visit, and implored him to sustain his positive disposition to the course of Igalaland.
