Ebonyi spends over N500m monthly to empower small business owners – Commissioner

The Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring in Ebonyi State Mrs Ann Aligwe has revealed that governor Francis Nwifuru has been spending five hundred million monthly on empowering business enterprises as a way to uplift both small and medium scale owners fortunes.
The Commissioner made the disclosure when she received members of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Empowerment Programme,FONEP media team in her office Ochudo Centenary City Abakaliki.
According to the Commissioner, Governor Nwifuru has proven that the present administration is a welfarist government which are in line with his manifesto anchored on people’s charter of needs.
Commissioner Aligwe hinted that the present administration has done numerous empowerment programmes through the ministry of human capital development and monitoring including the training of youths in the modern livestock and crop farming and disbursement of fund as start up, adding that Governor Nwifuru is committed to. elevating the people from their plights.
She extolled the state governor for his rural community projects scattered in all the 13-LGAs in the state which would be commissioned soon, saying that human capital development which tranverses all sectors including health and others have received numerous support while urging the FONEP media team to work as one family for optimal productivity.
However, the commissioner charged new media operators to desist from misrepresenting the image of the state on the social media saying that such battering reduces the people to mockery.
“If you have been in other states, you will discover that it’s only here that we take our family issue to social media, a little misunderstanding between family or people who ordinarily you can approach and correct, the next place you hear about it is on social media and that’s demarketing ourselves and the state which doesn’t do us any good.
On his part, the permanent Secretary of the ministry, Comrade Henry Nworie commended the team for their support and promotion of the activities of the ministry in the State.
Comrade Nworie who expressed worry over growth of fake news due to the emergence of new media enjoined media practitioners to remain assertive and a true mirror of the society, thereby being objective and balance in their reportage.
He equally described press as opinion and character moulders and urged the group to intesify efforts in ensuring that the voiceless in the society are given sense of belonging through the media.
Earlier, the Coordinator, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Empowerment Programme media team, David Ukah appreciated Mrs Aligwe for the warm reception, saying that the purpose of the visitation was to strengthen their existing partnership with the Ministry, while explore avenues for collaboration in human capital development, and align their initiatives with the Ministry’s ongoing programmes and vision.
“We believe that our shared goals and objectives in promoting human capital development in Ebonyi State can be further enhanced through mutual collaboration and support.
“We would like to explore potential areas of collaboration, including capacity-building initiatives, skills development programmes, and other interventions that can benefit the people of Ebonyi State as we are confident that our partnership can yield positive outcomes and contribute to the growth and development of our state.”he added.
Others who spoke including the General Manager EB-CSDA, Mr James Iroh urged the team to continue the promotion of the ongoing administration in the State especially the CSDA projects across the State.
