Ohimegye to Serve As Royal Father At Nigerian Post Kogi @ 34 Annual Public Lecture

His Royal Majesty, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom, Alhaji Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu is expected to serve as the Royal father of the day at the 2025 The Nigerian Post Newspaper Kogi @ 34 Lecture & Awards In Lokoja, holding August 26, 2025.

Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni, would be the Lead presenter to deliver the lead paper with the theme:
“Transparency, Accountability, Inclusivity, Economic transformation”, Kogi State in Focus.

The Nigerian Post Newspaper public Lecture & Gold Prize Award is an annual event to mark the State creation.

This years event is scheduled to take place at the NUT Guest House Conference Hall, Lokoja opposite Radio Kogi at 10:00am.

The Kogi State Governor, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo is expected to serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

Their Excellencies, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, Alhaji Yahaya Bello former Governor’s of Kogi State, the Minister for Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Audu Abubakar alongside other very important personalities within and outside Kogi State will also be expected to serve as Guests of Honour at the event.

The 2025 Lecture is to be chaired by a Philanthropist, Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji as Chairman with Erudite Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo, Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja as Co- Chairman.

Other speakers at the event will include; Prof. Marietu Tenuche, Vice Chancellor, Prince Abubakar University, Anyigba and Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi, Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja.

The 2025 edition of the public lecture, which has the Kogi State Commissioner For Information and Communication, Evang. Kingsley Fanwo as Chief Host, “aims to critically examine the creation of Kogi State 34 years of existence, discussing Accountability, Transparency, Inclusivity and Economic Transformation”.

According to a statement by the Editor in Chief, Abu Michael, this year’s event will also honour some distinguished personalities who have contributed to the development of the State.
