Sen. Sunday Karimi, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District has a trajectory. He has a pattern he has followed whenever he has the opportunity to serve.
This trajectory was again reenected at the Ekinrin Adde Community day amongst other communities he has touched positively .
Unlike other politician, Karimi is rugged when it comes to issues that has to do with the well-being of the people he represents.
Whenever he is on this path of service delivery, not minding who’s ox is gored, Karimi will over run interest that stands in the interest of the people, this is noticeable in his person when he served two terms in the House of Representative.
Senator Karimi, representing Kogi West Sunday Karimi, precisely at the weekend joined the people of Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Council, Kogi State to celebrate the 2025 edition of Ekinrin-Adde Cultural Day. This is an annual event that brings together sons and daughters of the community from far and wide, to celebrate their heritage and chart the course for local development.
A very simple and unassuming a personality, Sen. Karimi visibility within his district, on daily basis speaks volumes. He will honour invite and share with the people their thoughts, thus making him have an edge in quality representation.
At the Ekinrin Adde day, Senator Karimi who is a passionate President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s supporter, described the present times as one competing seriously for government resources at all levels, pointing out that government can no longer do it alone.
He therefore called for understanding and collaboration of the citizens, pointing out that unlike in the past, the present administration is aware of the pains, reason why rather than make excuses, it has constantly strive to the demand, not minding the present pains.
Sen. Karimi a passionate follower of the present administration, took his time to laud President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his resilience in the face of the challenges he inherited upon assumption of office, expressed appreciation that the President is focused and living up to the expectations of the people.
The Senator described the APC administration as the best thing to have happened to the country at this point, noting that if the current policies of the present administration are not in place the country would have been long mortgaged. He therefore commended Tinubu for his dogged determination in ensuring that Nigeria remains a going concern.
In a show of commitment to grassroots development, Senator Karimi, during the event, announced a cash donation of N10m while also pledging additional N50 million to support various development initiatives in Ekinrin-Adde community.
On record, no serving Senator can boost of beaten Sen. Karimi’s rural development personal donations, making many to wonder what manner of Senator is Karimi and where he gets resources.
This substantially individual contribution underscores his dedication to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other essential services within the Kogi West zone.
Senator Karimi will always emphasize the importance of unity, self-help, and strategic partnerships in driving sustainable development, said, “We must continue to support each other and invest in the future of our communities. Ekinrin-Adde has always been a beacon of progress in Kogi West, and I am proud to stand with you as a partner in development”
This gesture is one in the series of similar efforts by the lawmaker, who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the socio-economic growth of Kogi West Senatorial District. Over the past year, he has initiated and supported various projects across communities in the seven local government areas in Kogi West.
These intervention include water supply and sanitation projects in Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu Councils, education infrastructure upgrades in Lokoja and Yagba East Councils, health outreaches and equipment in Yagba West. The list includes rural electrification projects in underserved areas, roads and bridges.
That Senator Sunday Steve Karimi is changing the game in Kogi West is no longer news. His humongous donations and support lives one wondering what manner a Senator will have his people at heart the way he does.
Unlike what we’ve experienced in the past, Karimi is setting a new standard of leadership one rooted in action, accountability, and people-first service.
Other glimpse of his impact so far includes; the repairs of key roads like Kabba-Ilorin & Bunu-Iluke-Budon.
Rather than convert his Constituency funds for empowerment, he choose to channel it into a Federal Government roads, where he want get a return but wants the people who see the road as a concern to feel the impact of government and representation. Recalled that since 16 years ago, that road has been left abandoned with no budgetary allocation.
Also his N100M scholarship scheme for 1,000 students, the building of 75 solar-powered boreholes across communities ad well as the rehabilitation of schools and construction of a 1,000-seat lecture hall in Kogi State University Kabba, stands him out.
Karimi equally donated N11M to support nursing education, launched a military base in Egbe to fight insecurity at over N750m and the empowerment of 50 women cooperatives with N100M business fund is no childs play.
He has also on the floor of the Senate, sponsored key legislation that has promoted accountability, makes his leadership one that is in action.
That Kogi West is rising to its desired destination in just two years and is still counting as the beginning of better days to come places him on a high premium.
That his constituents made up of the women, youths and traditional Leaders lauding Senator Karimi for his hands-on approach, accessibility, and genuine concern for community welfare demands commendation.
