Eidel Kabir: Hon. Mohammed calls for Peace and Unity Amongst the People.

As Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir as a mark of obedience to God, the Kogi State Commissioner for Works Hon. Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf has called on Muslims to imbibe the spirit of the season and live in peace with one another irrespective of tribes and religion.

In a sallah message to the people, Engr. Mohammed rejoice with the Muslim faithful for another opportunity to witness the celebration of an important festival in the Islamic Calendar.

He described Eidel Kabir as a time for total submission and devotion to the wish of Allah, noting that it is to appreciate Almighty Allah for his Mercies and Benevolence.

The Commissioner noted that the lessons of sacrifice and total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah should continue to resonate in their lives and guide them in their relationship with their Creator and fellow Human beings.

He emphasized that the defining moment in the story of Eid-el-Kabir was the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael in obedience to the wish of the Almighty Allah, noting that Prophet Ibrahim’s Obedience was rewarded by God who provided a Ram that was offered in place of Ishmael for the sacrifice.

He urged the Muslims faithful to emulate the Faithfulness, Sacrifice, Piety and Patience which was exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim as well as humility and submission to the will of Allah by his son, Ishmael.

Engr. Mohammed called for prayers for the Peace and Progress of the State and for the Chief Servant of the State, Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for God to grant him good health and more wisdom as he continues to pilot the affairs of the State in the right direction.

He commended Muslim leaders and clerics in the State for their support, commitment and prayers towards the success of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and enjoined to maintain the harmonious relationship that has existed amongst adherents of the different religions in the State.

The Commissioner who also congratulated the Governor prayed for God’s protection and preservation as he continued to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people of the State.
