2025 Children’s Day Celebration in Kogi LGA: Engr. Bashiru To Renovate block of two class rooms, grants scholarship, gifts his primary school teacher N.2m
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources Engr. Bashiru Gegu, has promised to renovate a block of two class rooms burnt by fire in Kogi LGA at Central primary school Gegu Beki.
The Commissioner made the disclosure during the Children day celebration held in Kogi LGA, also gave scholarship to a young students that answered so many questions in a quiz competition.
Similarly, Engr Bashiru Gegu appreciated Mrs Maurine, a retired teacher who taught him while in primary 3.
He was very excited at seeing Mrs. Maurine who described as still the only surviving primary school class teacher that taught him.
The Commissioner supported Mrs. Maurine with the sum of N200,000 for her upkeep, described her as a quintessential teacher who taught him morals and intellectual knowledge.
In their remarks, the teachers appreciated Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for the prompt payment of salaries and pensions, prayed for him and his successful second term bid.
In Kogi LGA, About 17 schools gathered at Central Primary School Gegu Beki to celebrate the 2025 children day.
Highlights of some of the activities include: match past by the participating schools, Cultural activities displays by Egbira, Hause, Gbaji, Tiv speaking tribes residents in the Community.
