2027: Boki Political Stakeholders Unanimously Endorse President Tinubu, Governor Otu, and Hon. Victor Abang for Second Term

 


In a resounding show of unity and political direction, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Boki Local Government Area (LGA) today officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Cross River State Governor Sen. Bassey Otu, and Hon. Victor Abang, Member representing Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency, for a second term in 2027.

The endorsement event, held in Boje, the political and administrative headquarters of the LGA, drew a mammoth crowd of party faithful, traditional leaders, youth groups, market women, and community stakeholders, creating a vibrant atmosphere charged with optimism and political commitment.

Leading the charge, Engr. Kelvin Njong, APC Chapter Chairman in Boki, praised the trio for their visible achievements in governance. He cited President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, Governor Otu’s people-first agenda, and Hon. Victor Abang’s effective legislative representation as key factors that earned them the unanimous support of the Boki people.

In a show of solidarity, the 11 APC Ward Chairmen, led by Hon. Walter Achu of Ogep Ward, echoed the Chapter Chairman’s sentiments. They reaffirmed their support for the President, the Governor, and the Federal Lawmaker, citing meaningful developments across the LGA over the past two years.

Dr. Obi, Leader of the Boki Legislative Council, on behalf of all local councillors, threw the weight of the grassroots legislature behind the endorsement. “We are seeing governance in action. The dividends are clear—from infrastructure to healthcare and economic empowerment,” he said.

Adding voice to the endorsement, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, Cross River State Commissioner for Information who spoke on behalf of all the governors appointee from Boki, lauded President Tinubu and Governor Otu for transformative policies that have positively impacted everyday lives across the state. “This endorsement is not about politics, it’s about progress,” he declared.

Also present were prominent political voices such as Mr Sylvester Otu the chief protocol Officer to the Governor of CRS, AIG John Abang,Rtd, State Security Adviser to the Governor(Central), Barr. Patrick Odok, Paul Asu, and Assoc. Prof. Jake Enyia, Engr Ray Nandi, Mr John Owan, Barr Jake Dakim, Hon Lawrence Akan, the Vice Chairman of Boki LGA who all called on Boki citizens to stand firmly behind the endorsement. They noted that the economic empowerment programs of the President, Governor, and Hon. Abang have directly benefitted the people of Boki.

The LGA Chairperson, Mrs. Beatrice Nyiam, gave her firm support, stating, “This collective endorsement reflects the true voice of our people. We are not just endorsing individuals, we are endorsing progress, performance, and potential.”

In a heartfelt acceptance speech, Hon. Victor Abang expressed gratitude for the overwhelming show of support. “Your trust humbles me,” he said. “I remain committed to championing legislation that uplifts our communities. Together, we will continue to build a Boki and Ikom we can all be proud of.”
Hon. Ekpeyong Akiba, Special Adviser to the Governor, assured the gathering that Governor Otu remains committed to furthering development in Boki. “This endorsement is fuel for greater transformation in the years ahead,” he said.

A major highlight of the event was the official welcoming of Barr. Attah Ochinke, former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Cross River State, into the APC by the chapter Chairman of APC, Boki. His move to endorse the trio was met with thunderous approval, culminating in a unanimous voice vote by all party stakeholders in favour of the endorsement.

The gathering was a true reflection of grassroots democracy in action—traditional rulers, women’s groups, youth leaders, and elders came together under one voice and one purpose: continuity of leadership that delivers.

With today’s endorsement, the people of Boki have sent a loud and clear signal ahead of 2027. They are ready to stand with proven leadership. In Tinubu, Otu, and Abang, they see not just politicians, but partners in progress. As the political journey toward 2027 gains momentum, Boki LGA has boldly taken a decisive first step.
