Kogi Solid Minerals Commissioner gets another award, praised for community development efforts.

Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Basir Gegu has been praised for his promptness towards community development.
Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Basir Gegu has been praised for his promptness towards community development. President, Ekuzi Progressive Association in Kogi Local Government Area, Comrade Idris Yahaya Mohammed gave the commendation while leading other members of the Association on a visit to the Commissioner at Kogi Local Government Area. Comrade Idris who was the immediate past Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Teachers recalled various humanitarian gestures embark upon by Engineer Basir Gegu noting that the positive steps taken by him have attracted development to the people of the area.
He expressed appreciation for his donation towards the construction of Ekuzi Unity House at Agbudu which when completed will serve as multi purpose event centre for the community and beyond.
Ekuzi President also appealed to other politicians in Kogi West Senatorial District to emulate those who in one way or the other have contributed to the growth of the land.
He emphasized that projects; including the electrification of Okpareke to Adangere community as well as the grading of feeder roads from Iganuma to Esikaku and from Agbudu to Katubo will add value to current political dispensation.
The Unionist also appealed for the grading and upgrading of the traditional stools in the area and assured of the support of the people to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s led administration.
The Ekuzi President who presented an award of Humanitarian Services to the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources noted that the idea is to celebrate an icon who has carved a nich for himself in the area of community development.
Responding, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engineer Basir Gegu expressed appreciation to the Group for recognizing his contributions towards the development of the state.
He said the gesture will serve as a motivating factor towards making life better for the people of Kogi Local Government Area.
