Workers Day: MD Lounge 1 Celebrates Workers, Advocates Improved Social Welfare

The Managing Director, Lounge 1 has extended his warm felicitations to Nigerian and Kogi workers on the occasion of the 2025 International Workers’ Day, applauding their dedication and sacrifices in nation-building.
In a statement issued in Lokoja on Thursday, Hon. Paul Ukwenya described workers as the true engine room of development, whose labour sustains the economy and ensures the continuity of essential services in the country.
“Workers are the heartbeat of any nation. Their tireless efforts, often under challenging conditions, keep the wheels of our society turning. Today, we honour their resilience, their perseverance, and their invaluable contribution to our collective progress,” he said.
The Managing Director and philanthropists called for renewed commitment from all tiers of government to the welfare of workers, including improved remuneration, access to healthcare, housing, and other basic social amenities.
“As an advocate for social justice and welfare, I urge our leaders to prioritize policies that protect the dignity of labour. A worker who is well cared for becomes a stronger pillar in the structure of national development,” he stated.
Hon. Ukwenya also used the occasion to reaffirm the commitment of Lounge 1 to empowering the vulnerable individuals and communities through various interventions in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
He encouraged workers not to lose hope despite economic challenges, assuring them that their labour is not in vain and that better days are ahead.
“Let us continue to labour in hope, knowing that the seeds of sacrifice we sow today will blossom into a better tomorrow for our children and generations to come,” he added.
