RESOLUTIONS OF THE CENTRAL, ZONAL AND LOCAL ELECTION COMMITTEE OF NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA HELD ON THE 10TH, MARCH, 2025, AT COMRADE BALA U. IBRAHIM YOUTH HOUSE, LOKOJA
Preamble
The various committees met at Comrade Bala Youth House to harmonize and and report back on the progress at various chapters for the forth coming Local Chapters election across the LGAs of Kogi state in exception of Bassa, Yagba West, and Lokoja that have their election as off season.
In attendance was the Central Committee Members, Some Zonal Committee members and Some Local Committee Members.
After presentation of reports from East and Central, Western Zone were absent for undisclosed reason.
A petition against the Zonal Chairman and Secretary of Kogi West Election Committee was presented on some major irregularities by the Local Chapter Committee of Yagba East, Comrade Obasun Aiyebalowo Adebanji.
Resolutions reached;
1. A three Man Committee was set up to look into petition against the Kogi West Zonal committee.
Members of the Committee includes the following;
Michael Achor Joshua – Chairman
Abdullahi Rufai – Member
Sunday Osiakor – Secretary
Committee was charged to investigate and make unbiased recommendations with three days to turn in report.
2. Committee resolved that, while the investigation goes on, all activities of the Zonal Committee is suspended and empowered Comrade Bala U Ibrahim to superintend over the activities of the Zone electoral wise.
3. That all elections in Local Chapters should be concluded on or before the 22nd of March, 2025.
4.The following will serve as delegates for the elections.
a) All serving Executives at the National, State and Local Chapters.
b) The immediate past executives of National, State and Local Chapters
c) The following five uniform Voluntary Youth Organizations
1. Man O. War
2.The Scout Association of Nigeria
3. Boys Brigade of Nigeria
4. Girls Guide
5. Peace Corps
5.That the Central Appeal Committee will entertain complaints from 13-14th March 2025 between the hours of 10AM -12Noon daily.
