
Release of figures, statistics of Kogi Council Election Results, CHRCR Commends KOSIEC.

Comr. Idris Miliki Abdul, Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR), Lokoja, Kogi State has commended the bold steps taken by the State Independent Electoral Commission and its leadership to make public the results of last Saturday’s Local Government Election.
In a statement issued to Newsmen and signed by the Executive Director, urge the electoral body to review the election further on the lessons learnt through various recommendations made by various stakeholders that participated in the election and the electoral process.
Comr. Miliki advised the SIEC to upload the all-important figures and statistics to their website for proper information dissemination.
According to the statement, “The Popular saying that it is better late than never”, at last SIEC finally releases and make available facts, figures and statistics of the outcome of the Local Government Elections conducted on the 19th of October, 2024.
“It will be recalled that CHRCR demanded the details results of the elections conducted and declared late on the day of elections was conducted without the facts and figures that should have accompanied the said declarations by the Chairman of the commission”.
‘As part of our continuous post election review, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR) can now confirm the availability of the details of the elections results from wards to local governments, and according to the scores of each political parties and winners in the 21 local governments”.
“Despite this slightly delay in the released of these all-important figures, it is now available for researchers, documentation and dissemination of information in regard to the elections conducted and can now serve as a reference”, the Statement reads.
