
Gov. Ododo Presents Cheques to Project Affected Persons in Olubojo Community

In Ankpa, Kogi State, the Olubojo community witnessed a milestone event as Governor Alh. Usman Ododo presented cheques to Project Affected Persons (PAPs) these are people that would be involuntarily during the gully rehabilitation.

Despite the 10 am schedule, eager community members began arriving as early as 8 am, demonstrating their excitement and trust in the government’s efforts to address their long-standing challenges.

Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to resolving environmental challenges in the state, including the Olubojo erosion corridor, which has caused significant hardship, property loss, and displacement.

Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, OON, Project Coordinator of Kogi ACReSAL, emphasized that civil works will only commence after the compensation of displaced persons is complete. She advised beneficiaries to use the funds solely for their intended purpose and vacate the erosion corridor within the stipulated time.
Samuel Yahaya and Jane Musa, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the relief from their age-long sufferings.
This gesture marks a significant step towards addressing the ecological challenges in Olubojo and restoring hope to the community.
