The wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State Chief (Mrs) Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru has felicitated with the Muslim faithfuls in the state on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
The wife of the Governor disclosed this when she received Association of Muslim women led by Hajia Nkiruka Abass at her office new government house, Centenary City Abakaliki.
Harping on the need to live in peace with one another and demonstrate the virtues of love and sacrifice which are the hallmarks of the Eid-El-Kabir festival, the Governor’s wife enjoined them to show love towards one another notwithstanding the ethnicity as Ebonyians are peaceful loving people which they can attest to having made Ebonyi their home.
Chief Mrs Nwifuru urged the Muslim sisters to sacrifice for one another, irrespective of religious affiliations for the peace, growth and development of Ebonyi State and Nigeria.
She however thanked the Muslim community for their support to the All Progressive Congress (APC) during the 2023 general election in the State and promised to always support them.
Earlier the leader of the Association and the wife of the Chairman of Ebonyi State Muslim Forum, Hajia Nkiruka Abass, said they were honored and jubilant to be Her Excellency’s guests for the forthcoming Sallah celebrations.
She however assured her Excellency of their maximum support in bringing unity, peace to the state.
