Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA, a frontline Gubernatorial aspirant under the progressive party, APC and former Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning has expressed his heartfelt felicitation to all Christian faithfuls in Kogi state and beyond, on the celebration of Easter, charges them to use the occasion to reflect on the very essence of these period, which is to inculcate the immense spirit of Sacrifice, love and forgiveness as shown by jesus christ.
He charged Christians to hold to the message of love and compassion, which are the basis of the Easter Celebration, noting that with love, we will not only enjoy a peaceful society, but also make the right progress.
Asiwaju who spoke in a special message on Friday through a press release signed by his media aide, congratulated the Christian faithfuls for the successful completion of the lent season, which he said was a sacred period of fasting, dedicated for supplication to God for peaceful country and also the development of the land and people.
In his words, “Easter is a classical example of the power of love and sacrifice. Jesus christ, as it’s written in the holy bible, gave up himself to save mankind from the consequences of their transgressions. Therefore, Easter also means the celebration of the defeat of death and the hope of salvation, hence, I urge all Christians and people of other faith to vehemently pray for a Greater Kogi State and Nigeria at large”.
“Beyond the celebration that comes with the moment, it’s also a reminder of how love can save and why we must imbibe the culture of selfless service to humanity as exemplified by Jesus christ. Let be more concerned about the good of each other and show tolerance irrespective of our differences”.
According to the word of God, the death and resurrection of christ is an euphemism of hope for mankind, therefore we must pray for a renewal of Hope for our state and Nigeria in this season of transition- Where new leaders will be ushered in to pilot the affairs of the Nigerian state. He also urged Christians to use this season to seek the face of God for Governor Yahaya Bello and confluence state as we inch closer to the Governorship election, saying God will gift kogites a new leader that will serve genuinely and advance sustainable development.
“I thank the Good people of Kogi State and the Christendom particularly for their enduring support while he served in the state as Honourable Commissioner. Be rest assured that I am wholly committed to the delivery of good governance if given the opportunity to serve. With your support, we will take this state to a Greater height” Mukadam Asiwaju concluded.
