Justice Helpline Foundation has threatened to drag the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman to Court for contempt.
The Executive Director, Justice Helpline Foundation, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael in a statement said the Inspector General of Police has been given 48 hours to enforce the order of the Court directing the arrest of the Chairman, Economic Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa.
While pointing out that Nigeria is not a banana republic, Barr. Dare lamented that it is unfortunate to promote individuals and weaken institution as is being exemplified by the action of the Inspector General of Police, not to have arrested Bawa several days after the court order .
The Justice Helpline Foundation therefore has given a 48 hours ultimatum to the IG to arrest the EFCC Chairman or he will be dragged to court for contempt.
The Activist Lawyer, described as unfortunate that the orders of a competent court of jurisdiction is yet to be enforce, while the Inspector General of Police is feigning ignorance and showing non challant attitude towards effecting the arrest and detention of the EFCC Chairman.
