Every livingbeing has his life path defined by the Creator who is saddled with the task of controlling the affairs of all mortals that he has made. Simply put, everyone on earth have his unique personality as well as the assigned role he has been destined to perform in life.It is a common fact that situation, time and some unforeseen happenstance all conspire together to thrust leadership on some persons who though never aspire for such but find themselves there.Those who find themselves in this situation are somewhat imbued with some unique and remarkable traits that set them apart from others.
These traits usually help them in no small measure to function effectively in the position of leadership that the society thrust on them.These sum up the persona of Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who has since birth demonstrated uncommon leadership and passion wherever he found himself in life.Those who know the Ebira born chief executive of the Confluence State since childhood will attest to his leadership qualities as well as his sense of purpose and urgency to life.
He is someone who knew his path very early in life and had never shied away from following the path that has led him to the currenten viable position that he now occupies.It is to the credit of Bello that all the leadership lessons that he had acquired in life are being put to use thus making Kogi one of the few lucky states in the country where leadership seems to working for the collective good of all not minding the ethnic, religious or any other prejudices anyone will carry along. Gov. Bello who had the advantage of leadership on his side has been demonstrating uncommon sense of selfless leadership by prioritizing the needs of his people over and above his own by working tirelessly for the progress and development of Kogi people.The youthful governor has consistently utilized transparency and openness in the discharge of his duties to his people by not only rendering periodic accounts of his stewardship but also throwing his government open to public scrutiny at all times.
Cognisance of the fact that he presides over a state with varied ethnic and religious colouration, Gov. Bello who is highly detrabalised has ensured that all the component units of the state get their fair share of resources and opportunities in a manner that has not left anyone behind in the scheme of things.He has also accorded the same privilege to all religious groups in the state without any of the religious groupings feeling a sense of belonging. It is to his credit that governor Bello is not a religious bigot and has continued to relate with all the religious grouping on equal terms and basis.Observers have however praised him for putting Kogi on the path of greatness in the comity of other states owing to the significant progress and growth that the state have recorded since he came on board as the state’s chief executive. A noticeable feature of his government has been his ability to spot and build talents that would later become future leaders of not only the state but the country and the world at large.The youthful governor has no doubt redefined leadership not only in Kogi but in the country at large because it has become visible to all that his leadership of Kogi State has become so impactful to all residents that people from other states of thecountry are now making him the reference point for positive leadership.
It is on record that Gov Bello has become the first chief executive of the state who has taken it upon himself to save for the future.
Therefore, It’s not a surprised that both National and International organizations have fallen over each other to bestow various award of excellence and transparency to the governor in recognition of his selfless service to humanity, only yesterday, Rivers State government honoured the governor with the state’s highest award conferred on him by Gov. Wike of the opposition party.
