Monarch pledge hectares of land for Permanent site of NKFI

The traditional ruler of Apata, His Royal Highness Oba (Dr) Fredrick Balogun on Tuesday while receiving the Rector of the Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute of Vocational and Advanced Technology (NKFI) and his management team on a courtesy call proposed that the institute’s permanent site Should be sited at Akpata and immediately pledged hectares land for the purpose.

 

The royal father who expressed optimism in the ability of the institute to nurture highly professional technical and vocational students reiterated his commitment to see to the growth and development of his community.

He assured that his community is serene , peaceful, secured and conducive for academic activities, adding that Akpata would be happy to host such a reputable institute in its shores.

While thanking the management of NKFI for impacting his community positively through many of his subjects who had previously graduated from NKFI and were currently doing the community proud in their places of work, he pleaded that the Institute should give more admission slots to his subjects.

He noted that with the existence of Obajana Cement factory in its community it was imperative for indigenes to study more of science, technology and vocational related courses to fit the scheme of highly reputable employment as well as other industries within and outside the state.

The Monarch commended the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his developmental strides in education and providing the community with a primary and secondary school , which previous administrations and even prominent industry overlooked.

In his response, the Rector , NKFI, Mr. Charles Oluwatoyin William thanked the Royal Father for his warm and friendly reception. He appreciated him for the offer of land for the permanent site of NKFI and promised to grant indigenes of Akpata special preference when it comes to admission .

The Rector stressed the need for people to take advantage of the institute to accrue technological skills that were not available in regular institutions noting that such would position them for a greater future.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a gift of a digital portrait to the Rector by the Traditional ruler of Akpata which is the host community to Obajana cement factory.
