1444 hijrah Celebration: Ahead 2023 Election, Muslims Urged to Set Well Define Agenda, Plan Towards Achieving It – Ustaz Idris Abdullahi Almadany .

The need for Muslim faithful to set a well define agenda ahead the 2023 general election, plan towards it and carefully have a thought out plan on how to achieve it has been stressed.

Ustaz Idris Abdullahi Almadany made the disclosure while delivering a lecture titled: lessons for the Muslim Ummar as we approach 2023 general elections, was delivered on the occasion of the 1444 hijrah Celebration organized by Kogi State Council Of ULAMAYU, said a carefully thought out plan on how to achieve electing credible leaders ahead the 2023 general election should be the watchword of the Ummar.

According to the lecturer, ” We Muslims must ask ourselves what is our ‘ agenda for 2023 general elections and what steps are we taking towards actualizing it. We must set objectives both at the national and state level and work assiduously towards the actualization.
Ustaz Idris Abdullahi Almadany said one of the lessons of Hijrah was that the prophet worked with every segment to achieve his goal, said the Prophet worked with the youth; the women fold; added that the Prophet also worked with trusted non-Muslim, urged the Ummar to adopt the same strategy as we approach the 2023 elections pointing out that no segment of the society should be relegated to the background.

He particularly mentioned the need to mobilize women and bring them on board. Guide our youths and use them positively and not to allow them be turn into agents of destruction by politicians. We also need to cooperate with trusted non-Muslims for the common benefit of all and sundry.

One other lesson to be derived from the Prophet’s hijrah the Lecturer pointed out was the spirit of sacrifice for the sake of Islam, said we saw how Ali bin Abi Talib agreed to lie on the Prophet’s bed while the Quraish were laying siege ‘outside. He could have been killed mistakenly because the Quraish

He charged the Muslims on the need to do the same as we approach the coming election, said they must be ready to sacrifice there interests and ambitions for the sake of Islam and the ummah, maintaining that the Prophet and his companions sacrificed everything they had and migrated from Makkah, Allah gave them a betler replacement in Madinah and crowned it up with the conquest of Makkah just few years after.

He called on the need to prioritize the wellbeing of the Muslim ummah over personal wellbeing, disclosed that Allah will reward with something better for those who believe.

The lecturer called for the spirit of patriotism and love for one’s country by the Muslim Ummah said
Nigeria is the only country that we have, we must work together to salvage it.

In his words ” Some people refused to participate in the recent continuous voters registration exercise because they are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs in the country. Some say they will not border to vote in the next coming election because they are aggrieved with the current administration, some are even leaving the country to seek for greener pasture outside, but all these will not Solve the problem. We cannot give up on this country just the way the Prophet and his companions did not give up on the People of Makkah. We cannot also justify our individual failures with the bandwagon effect. You cannot say because the society is bad I cannot be a good Muslim. There was no society more dangerous and difficult for Islam than early Makkah, yet the Prophet remained as a paragon of virtue and as a beacon of light. So we cannot abandon the system and we cannot ignore the society. As Muslims, we must champion the cause for positive development in our society. May Allah assist us”.

” There is no doubt that there is so much
poverty in the land and a lot of people are going through hard times. We need to be our brothers’ keepers and extend the hands of fellowship to the poor and needy just the way the people of Madinah did to the
people of Makkah”.

Ustaz Idris Abdullahi Almadany said Muslim Ummah should emigrate from sins to repentance, from polytheism to unification of Allah, from evil deeds to good deeds and
from laziness and false hopes to diligence, seriousness and striving in what pleases Allah.

He concluded by saying, “The Muslim is one who does not harm other Muslims with his hands or tongue and the muhajir (emigrant) is the one who shuns all that Allah has forbidden” (Agreed upon) prayed for Allah to make the lessons of Hijrah beneficial to all Ummar, grant peace and security to the country in the years to come.
