National Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA),Mr Jonathan Gunu Taidi, has said that the appointment of Justice Olukayode Ariwola, as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), will present an opportunity to bring an end to the pains inflicted on the Judiciary across the country.

The NBA Presidential candidate, said that the internal memo by 14 Justice of the Apex court complaining the ugly state of affairs in the sector has exposed the horrific conditions in which “our judicial officers with administering Justice are Subjected to”.
This was contained in a press release signed by the presidential candidate and made available to Journalists in Minna the Niger state capital.
He observed that the unjust situation which Judiciary was mented to is not because of paucity of funds to take care of their welfare, rather due to misplaced priorities by the Executives.
According to the statement, it is clear that the administration of Justice is not feasible in an unjust environment, “we therefore prefer the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), to hits the ground running by setting up new template for expending by all heads of courts across the country”.
He stressed that the surest way of judicial financial autonomy stressing that the priotize clearing backlog of appeals pending before the apex court to sterm the alarming tide of appeals which come up for hearing long after the parties concerned have died.
Jonathan Taidi Gunu, was the immediate past secretary general of the Nigerian Bar Association and aspiring the presidential position of the NBA at the forth coming election slated for July 16 2022.
