NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TOLD TO RELEASE ALL FUNDS OF VARIOUS COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES DEDUCTIONS WITHHELD.

The Niger state government has disclosed that it would continue to guarantee welfare of it people and  support empowerment projects initiated by cooperative society’s in the state.

 

 

The state Head of service who was represented by Permanent Secretary Dr Idris Abdullahi Legbo fcna at the occasion of 2022 International Cooperative Day Celebration in Minna said Cooperative Societies have continued to provide better investment opportunities for worker’s which have served as relief for government and less dependence on conventional financial Institutions.

He mentioned that Cooperative societies in the state have also enabled civil servants to be less dependent on conventional financial institutions for their immediate needs, hence the need for the government support and cooperation.

He commended the Organizers of the Centenary celebration and also urged them to commit all necessary skills and expertise for better performance.

 

Earlier in his address the President, Niger State Cooperative Federation (NISCOFED)Ltd Comrade Labaran Garba stated that he will continue to put cooperative principles into action to provide opportunities for young people, women and most especially the vulnerable in the society so that they can  achieved their Hope’s and dream’s personality and processionally.

 

He stressed that Cooperative identity is based on unique value and principles that are focused on responding to the needs and aspirations of it members.

He said Cooperative day celebration for 2022 in Niger state Marks institutionalization of the world coopsday to be observed annually alongside with cooperators around the world

 

Comrade Labaran Garbage stated  that this will bring Cooperative stakeholders together for  better understanding of Cooperative benefits and challenges hence the needs for awareness on structure of  Cooperative movement and enlightenment of cooperators in the state.

 

He urged Cooperative societies in the state to affiliate to Unions and apexes for strengthening of Cooperative structures and to work as a team adding that it will enable them to explore other avenues of enhancing their capabilities towards a greater Cooperative movement.

He further appealed to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to release all funds of various Cooperative Societies deductions withheld for sustaining the Cooperative societies existence in the state and to also resume third party deduction to enable cooperators in the state civil service to have effective plan B for their retirement.
