The Kogi State Government has assured that it would continue to justify the confidence the World Bank has reposed on the State in meeting the objectives of KOGI ACReSAL Project.
The State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello made the disclosure
on the occasion of the inauguration of State Steering Committee and State Technical Committee Members of the KOGI ACReSAL Project, described the state as a safe place for laudable projects.
Represented by Secretary to the State Government Dr. (Mrs.) Ayoade Folashade Arike, assured of the safety of men and equipments for the KOGI ACReSAL Project, described the state Governor as one who is passionate about security of lives and properties.
KOGI ACReSAL Project according to the State Government would build on the success recorded by the Kogi State NEWMAP, urged the committee members to justify their appointment, and to ensure that the state maintains its lead in world bank ranking of the state.
The KOGI ACReSAL Project which seeks to protect the environment, would greatly assist farmers in recovery in the events of losses, assured that with the capable hands in the committee the KOGI ACReSAL Project would be a success.
In a vote of thanks delivered by Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, Project Coordinator of KOGI ACReSAL Project, described the inauguration of the committees as another milestone, said the aim of the ACReSAL project is to build resilience to climate challenges in Northern Nigeria
She added that it is equally aimed at supporting the Government of Nigeria in its aim to take 100million people from poverty by 2030, pointing out that it can achieved through ACReSAL Revolving funds that would be made available.
She expressed profound gratitude to Gov. Yahaya Adoza Bello, the life wire of Kogi NEWMAP, and now the life wire of Kogi ACReSAL described him as the Governor with zero tolerance to Environmental degradation.
She thanked the Governor for redefining Environmental management in the State, and at the same time improving the livelihoods of the affected communities, praised him for the provision of Counterpart funds, despite the dwindling resources of the State.
She promised to translate the knowledge acquired in NEWMAP to ACReSAL said it is another privilege to further advance the new direction policies of the present administration in the State with the greatest vigor, and discharge our duties with credit.
The Project Coordinator assured the State of speed in project delivery, dedication, commitment and results; promised in translating the knowledge acquired in NEWMAP to ACReSAL, because we are better equipped with experience.
In his response on behalf of the steering committee, the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Victor Omofaiye, assured that the Steering and Technical Committee, would work assiduously in meeting the objectives of Kogi ACReSAL Project, promised to make the state proud.
