Kogi State Government have Arrested a Woman For Maltreating Her Step Son.
The arrested woman has also been charged to court for abuse of the Child by the Kogi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development Commissioner Hajiya Fatima Kabir Buba.
The Commissioner swung into action after she was informed by the Executive Governor of Kogi State His Excellency Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello about the mannerless act.
After thorough interrogation by the Commissioner and her team, the woman, Elizabeth Abu who is Married to Ewongolu Emmanuel confessed to the crime, saying she did not intend to inflict such pain on the boy.
According to the boy, David Mathew Ewongolu in an Interview said he sustained the injuries on his buttock from a whipping he got from his stepmom for using part of his clothing to make duster, saying it looks like it was burnt with a hot electric Iron.

According to the Commissioner the boy is Currently recieving treatment at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital.
The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs Hajiya Fatima was fully on ground to expedite action on the development in collaboration with the Police Commissioner , urged the Ministry’s Legal team to ensure that the law of the land takes its course.
Both the Secretary to the state government Dr. Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike and HCWA were on ground to make sure the police do the needful, adding that she will be charged to court.
She assured that the New Direction Government led by His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello has zero tolerance for child abuse, stressing that guardians and parents must take great care in raising their child to become responsible citizens…. Continue reading
