SCHOOL INTER-HOUSE SPORT: *Shaibu Ran 100metres Race at a speed of 11:34 seconds ahead of Okpekpe 2022

The Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Philp Shaibu and wife, Comrade (Mrs.) Maryann Philip-Shaibu were today unavoidably present at Our Lady of Apostles Premier College Sports Ground as chief guest of honor to graced the school 13th Biennial Inter-house sports competition.

In the efforts to reposition the sporting activities in the state, to build a robust talent pool of athletes, to enhance and elevate sports at grassroots level, to establish a standard programme for athletes’ succession, to curb age cheating in Sports, to encourage early participation in Sports, to engage young athletes in the Olympic Movement, skill development and social responsibility, to enhance cultural and educational development, to promote National unity, Edo State Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Philp Shaibu and wife, Comrade (Mrs.) Maryann Philip-Shaibu were today unavoidably present at Our Lady of Apostles Premier College Sports Ground as chief guest of honor to graced the school 13th Biennial Inter-house sports competition.

The Deputy Governor, however became the high point of the show after covering 100meter track event within the space of 11:34 second with other parents in the male categories, a record that can only be challenged by the world sprinter, Usen Bolts to defeats his closest rivals. The 11:34 seconds was after using his back heels to complete the race

In her address the school Head Teacher, Rev. Sr. Felicia Mesu appreciate the Deputy Governor and his wife for active participation over the years.

It is worthy of notes that, Inter-house sports competition is a great importance to school life. Its function is to inculcate the spirit of healthy competition among students and encourage it within school.

The Inter-House activities gives all students the opportunity to participate in representative sports such as Races, Relay, Tug of war, Sack race, March-past  and other activities with the aim of raising self esteem, developing self-confidence and giving opportunities for leadership and teamwork beyond those already available within school.

Inter-house sports competition is the enrichment of the total school experiences of students within the context of the educational mission of schools. As such, the school sports is educational and contributes to the overall education of all pupils. Other objectives of the school Inter-House sports logically follow from the educational mission: citizenship, sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork, respect, and health and welfare of all students not only during the school years but continuing into adulthood.
