The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba has embraced the Tetiary Institutions Social Health Insurance Plan (TISHIP) of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency with a promise to take positive position on the programme after further interaction with the agency.
The Vice Chancellor of PAAU Prof. Marietu Tenuche made this known while giving her remarks after the presentation of the plan and benefit packTISHIP benefits package pan by the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Adekunle Aledare at the faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Lecture Theatre hall PAAU Anyigba.
Prof. Tenuche said the health insurance plan for the students of the Institution is laudable. She applauded Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for establishing KHSHIA for the benefit of Kogi State residents.
The Vice Chancellor charged the management of KHSHIA to ensure that the Institution’s insurance plan is well implemented when it takes off in order to meet the health care needs of the students.
While presenting the plan benefit package of TISHIP to the top management staff of PAAU and members of staff of the Institution health centre, the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Adekunle Aledare said TISHIP is a health insurance plan aimed at improving the quality of health care at all state owned tetiary Institutions in the State.
Dr. Aledare further stated that TISHIP will go a long way in providing financial risk protection to students and their families. He thanked the management of the Institution led by the amiable Vice Chancellor, Prof Merietu Tunuche for her quality leadership in repositioning the Institution.
Present at the occasion were the Vice Chancellor Administration, the Registrar, the Bursar, the medical Director of the Institution and senior staff members of the Institution.
