… Present Laptops to Students from nine LGA’s of Kogi East in Kogi State Polytechnic
The Story of Hon. Umar Yahaya who received two separate award at the weekend for his meritorious services to humanity by Omala Students Association and from student beneficiaries, drawn from across nine local government areas of Kogi East Senatorial District given laptops by Hon. Umar, after Successfully completing the computer training he sponsored for Students from Kogi East in the Kogi State Polytechnic.
The recognition w goes to confirm the axiom that we’re in the days when prophets can be recognized at home if they make service and Impact a way of their lives.
Yesterday at the Amusement Park Lokoja, stakeholders from all walks of life who converged in Lokoja were unanimous that Hon. Umar is a man worthy of emulation when it comes to empowering future Leaders with skills.
Recall that sometimes this year, Hon. Umar looking at the place of technology in modern day learning and having an understanding of computer in the present day generation, was spurred to enroll some students from the nine local government areas of Kogi East for a computer training.
Those present at the occasion described Hon. Umar as a man of rare quality, difficult to find, commended him for having the future of students from Kogi East at heart.
Hon. Umar, tasked Nigerians on the need to equip youths and Students’ with tools that would enhance their learning and technological advancement.
The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress who hails from Omala LGA of Kogi State while presenting the laptops to thirteen out of the twenty students drawn from nine Local Government Areas of Kogi East Senatorial District studying in Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, said when empowered and gainfully engaged, it would help reduce Youth involvement in social vices amongst other vices inimical to the society.
The thirteen graduates who were given the laptops by Hon. Umar were amongst twenty he sponsored six months ago.
During the training, they recipients went through the rigours of Computer training, described having skills in digital technology as the way the world is moving to now reason why he initiated the Program.
Hon. Umar commended the resillient spirit of the graduands for going through the rigours, pointing out that with the skills they have acquired in computer, and with the laptops, it would help ease their learning and broaden their horizon as studies.
Hon. Umar urged the beneficiaries to guard and make judicious of the laptops, pointing out that young people who are presently ruling their world are people with skills in information and digital technology.
Hon. Umar called on others to support in equipping Students’and Youths with tools that would make their lives meaningful, stressing that empowering people should not be done only when you occupy Political office.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comr. Danjuma Moh’d Khabir, President of OSA, described the gesture by Hon. Umar as first of its kind, called on other well spirited individuals to emulate his kind gestures to tommorow’s Leaders.
The beneficiaries of the computer training and laptops, could not hide their joy as they openly sang the praises of Hon. Umar, described the gesture as rare, prayed God to grant him good health and prosperity.
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of an award to Hon. Umar by the beneficiaries of the computer training and laptops as well as another Award from the entire students of OSA for his Unprecedented support.
The occasion which held at the Children’s Amusement Park, had noteable indigenes of Omala and other LGA in Kogi East Senatorial District in attendance.
