Covid19 vaccines, safe, effective – Publisher, Thenigerianpost


 

Nigerians have been encouraged to make themselves available for the covid19 vaccines, as it is safe and effective.

 

 

The Publisher and Editor in Chief, Thenigerianpost Newspaper, made the appeal while making a presentation at a one day stakeholders engagement on effectiveness of Covid19 vaccine held at the Newage hall in Lokoja, described the myths surrounding the Covid19 vaccines as untrue.

The Publisher urged the Political Leaders in the State to make themselves available for the uptake of Covid19 vaccines, pointing out that it would serve as a strong conviction for the citizenry.

While pointing out that the intake of the vaccine is now becoming a travel critaria and in accessing several places for transaction, urged the people to avail themselves as a way of staying safe.

The Publisher described that the Covid19 pandemic has been one of the greatest health crises in recorded history, but expressed thanks to rapid advances in science and technology, was optimistic that the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

While he pointed out that there is major vaccination efforts currently underway to immunize the world’s population, said according to data from health authorities, 39.7% of the world’s population has received at least one dose, while, as of today, almost 2.1 billion people across the globe are fully vaccinated.

 

He urged the people to get vaccinated as the best solution to end the pandemic, said the sooner people are immunized, the faster it will be possible not only to slow the spread of the disease, but also to limit its impact on the economy.

Mr. Abu listed the benefits of vaccination to include protection against harmful diseases before coming into contact with them, as it activates the body’s natural defenses to learn to resist specific infections and strengthen the immune system.

In this sense, vaccination against COVID-19 he pointed out will reduce the risk of becoming seriously ill and dying, since the person will be better protected.

COVID-19 vaccines he added can also prevent people from becoming seriously ill even if you contract the virus.

Vaccines according to the Publisher were developed based on scientific knowledge used for decades, said they are not experimental as they went through all the required stages of clinical trials.

In her speech, Yemi Balogun, Project Coordinator described Covid19 as a raging pandemic that has impacted negatively on the lives of the people across the world.

She described the Stakeholders engagement as a way of addressing the misconception and misinformation about the safest and effectiveness of the vaccines, reason for the intentional and Public sensitization of the people.

She called on the stakeholders to promote acceptably and actual uptake of the Covid19 vaccines in Kogi State and to sensitize the public on the efficacy, safety and acceptance of Covid19 Vaccines.
