2023: Youths vow to end politics of gerontocracy in Nigeria – Barr. Zaccaeus Dare Michael


 

Nigerian Youths yesterday vowed to end Politics of gerontocracy in Nigeria, insisting that enough is enough for people above sixty years of age to continue to pepetuate themselves in power.

Gerontocracy is a democracy where leadership is reserved for people above sixty years and are allowed to serve for life, a system Barr. Zaccaeus Dare Michael, The Convener, Congress for Better Nigeria  frowns at, says it has come to an end in 2023:

 

The Convener, Congress for Better Nigeria, Barr. Zaccaeus Dare Michael made this known after youths from the nineteen northern states including the FCT converged on Kogi State for a one day program under the aegis of Yahaya Bello Network.

The Convener said the zeal with which the youths gathered as well as their resolve, points to the fact that never again will the youths of Nigeria take the back seat, of being used as thugs and relegated to the background of poverty and unemployment.

The Convener assurred that come 2023 Nigerian Youths by their resolve in the Confluence City, have vowed to take the drivers seat, no longer to play the second fiddle, called on other Nigerians to join the moving train, described the present youths demand as a battle of No Surrender.

The Convener explained that Nigerian youths have vowed to revolt through their PVC to bring the desire change they have long clamoured for in Nigeria.

He said the resolve to end politics of gerontocracy in Nigeria is a battle of no retreat no surrender pointing out that the demography of the country greatly support the agitation and resolve to take the driver seat in the nation’s Politics and Governance.

The Lawyer, Activists and emancipator noted that the Kogi State Governor is a dependable, reliable, result oriented, focused and detribalized leader who is concerned about the progress of the Country.

He enjoined all Nigerians to join in the Clarion call on Governor Bello to contest for the 2023 Presidential race, saying his emergence will bring good tidings to all citizens of the giant of Africa.

Barr. Dare added that with Governor Bello piloting the affairs of Nigeria, insecurity and other teething challenges that has crippled the economy of the Country will become a thing of the past.

He appreciated the National Chairman of YBN, Abdul Amart Mai Kwashewa for his doggedness, selfless service and commitment at propagating the candidacy of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, charging him to sustain such tempo.

Recall that Youth groups, women groups, associations, dignitaries, among other well wishers, attended the event in Lokoja, lend their voices to the clarion call for Gov Bello to contest in 2023.
