The Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria, Barr. Zaccaeus Dare Michael, has described the role of the Economic and Financial Crimes on the Kogi N20bn bailout fund as a political distraction.
The Convener Congress for Better Nigeria in a statement described EFCC as Acting a script that is shrouded in mystery, asked who’s role is the EFCC playing.
The Convener described EFCC’s desperate bid to cover incompetence as laughable, lamented that it is acting a script to bring down the rising profile of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
According to the Convener, the EFCC said it discovered money. Suddenly the EFCC said it has returned the money to the CBN, lamented that all efforts by the Kogi State House of Assembly to invite the Management of Sterling Bank to explain the role of Kogi State Government in the alledged deposit in a non existent Bank has failed, as the Bank failed to appear.
The Convener disclosed that no amount of intimidation and blackmail to pull down the rising profile of Gov. Bello would see the light of day, described EFCC as a Political tool Acting a script.
He urged the EFCC to disclosed the name of the person who deposited the acknowledged receipt of the sum of N19, 333,333,333.36 (Nineteen Billion, Three Hundred and Thirty-three Million, Three Hundred and Thirty-three Thousand, Three Hundred and Thirty-three Naira, Thirty-six Kobo) recovered by the EFCC from the Kogi State Salary Bail-out account domiciled in Sterling Bank Plc, said if they cannot, they should apologize to the state government.
The Convener described as laughable the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s attempt to desperately wriggle out of a bad case with another mischief aimed, again, at misleading Nigerians lamented that the EFCC has become a willing tool in the hands of Political mischief makers.
Barr. Dare said the EFCC has finally exposed the fact that it has been pursuing a political agenda all along said rather than come out clear and apologize, it is hiding behind a finger.
The Convener said the Commission is acting a script to maliciously rope the state into a matter that ordinarily has nothing to do with the state, he said.
Barr. Dare said the state Government did not operate such account with the bank as affirmed in a letter by the bank, described the EFCC as trying to cover the initial misinformation and deliberate deceit by the Commission.
Barr. Dare said no amount of campaign of calumny would distract Gov. Bello’s Presidential Aspiration, described the governor as a stitch in time to save the country from iminent collapse.
