The former Registrar, Kogi State University Anyigba, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Yunusa Idu is dead.
Alhaji Abubakar Idu slumped at Idah during the coronation of the new Attah of Igala,HRH Mathew Alaji Opaluwa 1.
Alhaji Abubakar Idu halied from Ojoku in Ankpa local government area and joined the services of Kogi State University,Anyigba as Assistant Registrar in 1999,rose to the position of Deputy Registrar and was appointed Registrar- of the Institution in 2016.
Dr Idu who also took over from the former late Registrar of the Institution,Mr (Elder) Joseph Zhizhi who died in a ghastly motor accident along Okene -Anyigba road in 2015.
As at press time, information about what led to his death was sketchy,as his corpse was taking to Ankpa,his ancestral home for muslim burial rites tomorrow, Thursday, November 18 2021.
Dr Idu ,a scholar per excellence started his early education in Ankpa town along with quaranic education,he went to College of Education,Ankpa, University of Nigeria Nsukka both for graduate and post graduate studies in public administration,and later bagged his PhD in the same discipline.
He was happily married with children.
