Lokoja, Oct. 5, 2021 (NAN) The Obaro of Kabba and Chairman Okun Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, has commended Gov. Yahaya Bello (GYB) of Kogi for rehabilitating some dilapidated township roads in Kabba which had been abandoned for decades.

The Obaro gave the commendation when a team under the aegis of Forum of Special Advisers to GYB, paid a courtesy visit to the paramount ruler in Kabba, during project inspection tour, tagged: GYB Legacy Projects’ Tour”

He commended the forum for taking up the task of showcasing the tremendous achievements of GYB to Nigerians and the world at large, which had been under reported.

The monarch described the governor as jinx’s breaker who remained concerned and committed to the development of Okun land and the state at large, stressin that the Okun people were feeling his impact.

The paramount ruler thanked the governor for several infrastructural projects executed and ongoing across Okun land, saying, ”the reign of Yahaya Bello as governor of Kogi State has brought development to Kabba in particular”.

The Obaro further eulogised GYB for rehabilitating many dilapidated township roads in Kabba particularly Kano road in Asuta which had been abandoned for decades by the past administrations in the state.

According to him, Kabba is an ancient town, neglected by the previous administrations in the state, but the emergence of the young governor has liberated the town and given them freedom.

The royal father assured the forum of his continuous support and that of his people for the State Government under the leadership of Yahaya Bello, saying, ”we will continue to reciprocate the goodness of the governor”.

Earlier, the Forum’s Chairman, Hon. Usman Ochidi, said that the tour was aimed at projecting the legacy projects that had been executed and ongoing across the three senatorial districts of the state, to the world.

He noted that the governor remained very much committed and dedicated to the welfare of the people of the state, adding that they want him to replicate the gesture at the national level.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the forum thereafter visited some rehabilitated and ongoing road project in Kabba.

The roads inspected include: Kano road, St Barnabas-Orita Opolo, St Barnabas-St Joseph road, St Barnabas-Anglican Cathedral road, NTA roundabout-St Monica- junction road, among others.

Speaking to newsmen after inspection, Hon Olabode Adeyemi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service and Labour Matters, described GYB as a pragmatic and detribalised leader who is security conscious and projects oriented.

Adeyemi, who is Kabba indigene, said most of the rehabilitated roads in the township used to be the worst roads in the entire area, and thanked the governor for considering Kabba for those kind of projects.

”We appreciate the governor for not just giving us a road but roads with standard drainage system, which is ‘GYB Standard’, that would make the roads to last longer

”With the lean resources Kogi State is getting, GYB is doing wonders and we appreciate him”, he said

Adeyemi prayed that God would lift GYB from being a governor to become the Nigeria’s President, saying it would be the emancipation of the north central people.

He further noted that the governor had given assurances of doing more for the people, and enjoined his people to continue to support the governor to enable to do more.

Some Kabba residents, who spoke to NAN, applauded GYB for responding to their yearnings on the rehabilitation of some key roads in the town.

Hon, Ayo Kajotoni and Mrs Theresa Leke, a Councilor and Women Leader of Asuta Ward respectively, in their separate comments thanked GYB for the gesture towards Asuta people after 30 years of neglect by successive administrations.

They extolled the governor for being a detribalised and just leader in governance, and enjoined Nigerians to support his ambition to become the Nigeria’s president come 2023.

Joshua Olorunleke, a community leader, thanked the governor for fixing the roads, noting that they were so bad before especially the St Barnabas road.

He appealed to the governor to extend the rehabilitation to other important roads in Kabba township. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
