CP Arungwa Nwazue takes Charge of Kogi Police command
The Assistant Inspector General of Police and immediate past Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command , AIG Ayuba Ede has handed over to the new Commissioner of Police, CP Arungwa Nwazue to Charge of the command with immediate effect.
Ede while handing over at Kogi Police Command headquarters on Monday expressed his profound gratitude to those who had made his stay a huge success.
He recalled that he was posted to Kogi State on 31st December 2019, noting that barely twenty four hours after resuming when suspected bandits unleashed attacked on Tawari Vilage and killed over 20 persons.
While pointing out that Kogi terrain was somehow difficult, he added that there were serious cultism attack in Ayingba and Idah respectively claiming lives of several innocent people.
AIG Ede commended Kogi State governor , Yahaya Bello who he described as security friendly governor for his outstanding support, noting that the governor always responded in period of emergency no matter what the situation.
He also lauded the journalists for the their support for the command by reporting accurately the incidents as they happened in Kogi during the brief stay as the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State.
The Outgoing Commissioner of Police however advised the Police Command to be at alert because this the harvest season when there is likelihood of Farmers/herders clash.
Responding that , the new Commissioner of Police CP Arungwa Nwazue expressed profound thanks to the outgoing commissioner police for the wonderful jobs he did at the command, noting that when you look at North Central as whole interms of security , Kogi State was not doing badly.
He assured that he will uphold and sustain the high tempo of operations introduced into Kogi State Command by outgoing police boss and introducing more tactical ways of policing in the State.
He pledged to harp on intelligence gathering from within to enhance more operation efforts , adding the command will checkmate the activities of bandit , kidnapper armed robbers and ensure they are deterred.
