The Executive Chairman of Yagba West Local Government, Hon. Pius Kolawole has officially flags-off the Food For Widows initiative program today in Omi/Ogga/Odo-Ara ward of Yagba West.
The program according to the Council boss is an off shoot of his welfare programs for the people of his local council, designed as a palliative measure to mitigate the suffering of the people, who are mostly widows.
Hon. Pius who, praised His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his many laudable programs toward uplifting the status of widows specially and women in general.
He described Governor Bello as the only Governor in Nigeria who has demonstrated his will to move women to the next level in the scheme of things.
Hon. Pius urged the beneficiaries to continue praying for and supporting the government of New Directions.
The Executive chairman said the token was his widows’ mite and his own way of giving back to the people.
The event which kicks-started in Omi town has in attendance, members of the Executive council of Yagba West, special advisers and many dignitaries.
