The Kogi State Sports Council has felicitated the State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello on the occasion of his 46th birthday, describing him as a patriotic and sports-loving leader in the country.
In a goodwill message to the Governor which was signed and issued to Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) Kogi Chapter, the Director of Sports, Mr. Onipe Obakachi commended Bello for the efforts he is making towards providing good governance for the people of the state.
The Director of Sports also acknowledged Governor Bello’s effort in addressing sports challenges in the state, adding that sports in the state have taken a new turn since the beginning of his administration.
He further thanked the Governor for the massive support the Kogi contingent enjoyed during the just concluded Edo 2020 National Sports Festival and previous sporting activities that took place in the state.
He added that “As the Governor of Kogi State, you have been striving to provide good governance and deliver on the aspirations and development needs of the good people of the sports ministry.
“We appreciate your effort in managing the sports sector, as it has been a challenging time in previous times. We want to say a big thank you for boosting the morale of the athletes and coaches by several hosting medal winners in various competitions.
One further disclosed that the governor’s interest to host and award all athletes and coaches who have won a medal for the state before will be a huge turning point towards Sports development and a big encouragement to everyone in the Sports sector to do more.
He said the council will continue to support the Governor in changing the face of the State to a desirable height, just as he maintained that the people of Kogi State are solidly behind him to achieve his presidential ambition come 2023.
He therefore on behalf of the entire sports council and well-wishers and the People of Kogi State to wish him more years of glory and honor.”
