Improving Workers ‘ Welfare My Priority–Kogi Hos, Mrs Odiyo
The newly appointed Head of Service of kogi state, Mrs. Hannah Onyinoyi Odiyo has assured workers that her immediate priority is how to see to the welfare and improvement of the conditions of service for workers.
This is as she urged workers to ensure hardwork , diligence and to avoid complaints and grumbling saying at the appropriate time their services would be rewarded.
The HoS who was full of gratitude to God and Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for appointing her against all odds as Head of service , charged workers to pray for the governor so as to be able to accomplish his laudable plans and programmes for the state.
The new Head of Service gave the assurance on Monday at a reception held in her honour by the Power Summit International, Lokoja on her appointment as Head of Service of Kogi state.
Mrs Odiyo said she was familiar with the challenges workers are facing and stressed that she will be talking with the governor on their behalf for improved welfare assuring that the governor with the listening ears will do the needful within the bounds of the resources accruable to the state.
She added that the pensioners would also receive attention by the Administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello who in earnest has made funds available on monthly basis to defray pension liabilities, saying Governmemt is holistically addresing the issue of promotion without cash backing.
She solicited for prayers for her and the state to be able to cope with the enormous responsibilities placed on her, adding that leaning on God , the source of power and strength , she is sure of not disappointing the confidence of the people repose in her.
The number one worker in the state while drawing inspiration from the scriptures in 1peter 5 v 10 said Her God is too faithful to fail and he will do what he has said, stressing that the prophecy for her appointment came as far back as 2018 but it was manifested in 2021 at a time mortal man would have given up.
According to her ” Some men of God both the ones I know and those I don’t directly known have severally prophesied to me that they saw me around the office of the Head of civil service. Although I believed the prophecies, but within me , I said who do I know to help me to the position, at most I will be one of the permanent secretaries of the office.
” They kept prodding me up that God is too faithful to fail. Miracle of promotion kept pouring in. I was promoted a Director , in which I over stayed and when promotional exams for permanent secretary came the Lord assisted me and I passed.
” I have to encourage my self in the Lord that although I have little years more in service and when will the prophecy be fulfilled but some how the Lord showed up in 2021 and the governor in his mercy appointed me as the head of service of the state” she reminded.
Meanwhile, the lead pastor of the Power Summit International Bishop Ugbede Philip acknowledged her unflinching love for God that she will stop at nothing to ensure that God and humanity are given proper place in her service.
According to him, “the new Hos is a lover of God and humanity. She will use her resources even at the detriment of her family to ensure that the House of God has enough for her children. She has demonstrated this over time and I’m convinced that she will not get less than what she has gotten. I pray for her that the Almighty God she is serving will strengthen and give her wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state for workers” He prayed.
