Sam Aro Assures Kogi West Of Inclusive Representation, Development

The winner of the Kogi West Senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Samuel Bamidele Aro, has assured the people of the district of inclusive representation and meaningful development if elected into the Senate in the 2027 general election.
Aro gave the assurance on Friday during a grand reception organised in his honour at the Children Amusement Park, Lokoja, following a judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which declared him the winner of the APC senatorial ticket for Kogi West.
The event attracted a large crowd of party leaders, supporters, youth groups, women leaders and well-wishers from across the seven local government areas of the senatorial district, who gathered to celebrate his legal victory and express renewed support for his aspiration.
Aro arrived at the venue in the company of prominent party leaders and government officials, including the State Security Adviser and APC leader in Kogi West, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd); Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Engr. Bashir Abubakar Gegu; Lokoja Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Hussaini, popularly known as Gentle; Hon. Phillip Orebiyi; and APC leader in Lokoja, Umar Imam.
The crowd erupted in jubilation as Aro emerged, with supporters chanting solidarity songs and waving party flags in a carnival-like atmosphere.
Addressing the gathering, Aro pledged to run an inclusive and people-oriented representation, promising to carry all stakeholders along irrespective of political affiliations or past disagreements.
“I will be a senator for all. I will carry everybody along. There will be no winner, no vanquished,” he said.
He described his victory as a collective achievement of the people of Kogi West, expressing appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Gegu, Omodara and other party stakeholders who supported him throughout the legal battle.
Aro also called for reconciliation among aggrieved party members, stressing that unity and cooperation were essential for the APC to secure victory in the 2027 general election and deliver good governance to the people.
He pledged to prioritise empowerment, education, healthcare, road infrastructure, youth employment and support for women and farmers, noting that his legislative representation would be driven by the needs and aspirations of the people.
The APC senatorial candidate further promised to work closely with the Kogi State Government to attract federal development projects and extend the dividends of democracy to communities across the district.
In his remarks, Omodara urged APC members in Kogi West to rally behind Aro, describing him as the party’s constitutionally recognised senatorial candidate following the court judgment.
“The court has spoken. Hon. Sam Aro is our candidate. Let us all support him and move forward as one family,” Omodara said.
He urged party members to set aside past grievances, close ranks and work collectively towards the party’s success in the 2027 general election.
The reception later transformed into a carnival as supporters embarked on a procession through major streets of Lokoja, singing, dancing and displaying banners in support of Aro.
The celebration underscored the growing mobilisation around Aro’s candidacy as the APC prepares for the 2027 Kogi West senatorial election.
