OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE WIN WITH TINUBU (WWT) GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION PROGRAM FOR KOGI STATE ON THE RULING OF HON. JUSTICE SALIM OLASUPO IBRAHIM OF THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN THE CASE BETWEEN HON. SAMUEL BAMIDELE ARO V SEN. SUNDAY STEVE KARIMI.

The Win With Tinubu (WWT) Grassroots Mobilisation Programme (WWT) for Kogi State has received with dismay the flawed ruling of Hon. Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim in the case between Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro v Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.

While we note with respect the ruling, we however consider the it a needless distraction with a deliberate attempt to deny members of the APC in Kogi West the mandate freely given to Senator Sunday Steve Karimi through their votes at the APC Kogi West Senatorial Primaries Election which took place on the 18th of May, 2026 in strict accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act, the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress, and the guidelines issued by the National Working Committee.

The trial judge defiled all known rules of law to the extent that he even over ruled himself in recent judgements in delivering this flawed judgment.

Despite this unfortunate setback, we wish to inform the good people of Kogi West and the general public that the legal team of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has commenced the process of filing an appeal to challenge and set aside the ruling of Hon. Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim of the Federal High Court.

We wish to affirm that Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, remains the authentic, duly nominated and validly elected candidate of our great party for the Kogi West Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections pending the determination of the suit at the appellate court. No individual or interest group will be allowed to hijack or subvert the clear will of the majority of members of the APC in Kogi West.

Unfortunately, this is a familiar path we once travailed and prevailed. You will recall that similar drama played out during the senatorial primaries election where the name of Hon. Samual Bamidele Aro was fraudulently submitted as the winner of the Kogi West Senatorial Election in which he never participated.

Justice prevailed as the Party’s Appeal Committee subsequently reviewed the process and re – affirmed the victory of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi.

Thereafter, the name of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi was duly submitted to, and published by, INEC as the APC candidate for Kogi West Senatorial District.

We hereby firmly dismiss the ruling of Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim of the Federal High Court as one that does not reflect the true outcome of the primary election as conducted, monitored, documented and affirmed by the relevant organs of the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

The will of the majority of APC members and delegates in Kogi West was clearly expressed in favour of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi and cannot be lightly set aside.

We appeal to our teaming supporters and grassroots mobilisers not only in Kogi West alone but across Kogi State to remain calm, patient and confident in the appellate court to dispense justice judicially and judiciously in this matter.

The Win With Tinubu (WWT) grassroots mobilization program for Kogi State sponsored by Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi will continue its mobilization efforts with renewed vigour towards the resounding victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all APC candidates across Kogi State.

Our ward engagements and mobilisation efforts across Kogi State shall remain on course, as this temporary setback will not distract us from achieving our set objectives.

We remain committed to democratic participation, the victory of all candidates of the APC in Kogi State especially the political aspirations of Distinguished Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, the Chief Grassroots Mobilizer for the re- election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR in Kogi State to represent the good people of Kogi West for a second term in office.

We trust that the appellate court will deal with this matter expeditiously and that the mandate freely given by the people of Kogi West will be fully restored.

The progress of our party in Kogi West will not be derailed by distractions. Surely, we shall win again!

@WWT, you win, i win, we win: #WinWin

Let’s Win Together!
