David Zacharias Idris, has congratulated Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, popularly known as Elephant, and his wife, Hajiya Hafsat, on the occasion of the christening ceremony of their newborn baby.
Hon. David Zacharias gave the congratulatory remarks while serving as Chairman of a reception organized in honour of the newborn at A-Class, Wuse District, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The event attracted family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers.
In his remarks, Hon. Zacharias commended the PDP Kogi East Senatorial candidate, Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, and his wife, Hajiya Hafsat, for organizing what he described as an elaborate and memorable celebration.
He expressed delight at witnessing such a remarkable occasion involving a friend, brother and political associate.
“I have attended many naming ceremonies, but I have never witnessed one as elaborate as this. Indeed, it is one of its kind,” he remarked.
He urged other Igala sons and daughters to emulate the gesture, noting that social celebrations of this nature provide valuable opportunities for family reunions, friendship, networking and meaningful social interaction.
Describing the newborn as a special child, given the calibre of personalities who attended the ceremony and the grandeur of the celebration, the federal lawmaker prayed for God’s protection, guidance and blessings upon the baby.
He further prayed that the child would grow to become an outstanding personality, distinguished among her contemporaries, whose name would one day resonate in the leadership and affairs of the nation.
Beyond the celebration, Hon. David Zacharias used the occasion to call on the people of Ankpa Local Government Area and the entire Kogi East electorate to rally behind Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi in his aspiration to represent the Igala-Bassa people at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
He described Mohammed Abdullahi as a worthy candidate whose antecedents, hard work and entrepreneurial accomplishments demonstrate his capacity to provide purposeful representation.
According to him, Hon. Abdullahi, as a successful businessman, possesses the experience, commitment and passion required to serve his people, stressing that his ambition is driven by the desire to contribute to the development and progress of his constituency rather than personal enrichment.
Hon. Zacharias expressed confidence that giving Mohammed Abdullahi the people’s mandate would provide an opportunity for quality representation and accelerated development in Kogi East.
